Dallas Cowboys

Good, not great, for the Cowboys: B-.

You can hear the double-takes from here. The Cowboys took Paris Shand at slot 186, roughly 117 spots before his name belonged. Call it a sensible B-, earned the boring way.

Mondon Jr. falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through cornerback. Wide receiver is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.

In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.11 · Pick 11 · Mason Graham · DT · rank 8
In the 11th pick they get a pocket-collapsing interior rusher. A clean fit for the roster.
R2.10 · Pick 42 · Omarion Hampton · RB · rank 15
Omarion Hampton in pick 42 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
R3.9 · Pick 73 · Jalen Royals · WR · rank 77
By-the-book stuff, Jalen Royals at Round 3, Pick 9 squarely in line with his ranking. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
R5.11 · Pick 149 · Smael Mondon Jr. · LB · rank 42
You do not let a linebacker like Smael Mondon Jr. reach the 149th overall pick and blink. They did not. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
R5.31 · Pick 169 · Andrew Mukuba · S · rank 82
Steal is underselling it; Andrew Mukuba at slot 169 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
R5.32 · Pick 170 · Bear Alexander · DT · rank 159
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Bear Alexander at the Round 5 slot is the proof. The roster fit checks out.
R5.33 · Pick 171 · Fernando Carmona · OT · rank 234
They reached into another round for Fernando Carmona, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
R6.11 · Pick 186 · Paris Shand · DE-EDGE · rank 303
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Paris Shand. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
R6.34 · Pick 209 · Barion Brown · WR · rank 186
They robbed the room for Barion Brown here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
