The Raiders spent the pick that matters most on Jayden Daniels, and a roster that has been waiting on a passer can start to take shape. More right than wrong, and a B- to match.
Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. They are betting Hall proves the room right and everyone else wrong. Job largely done: cornerback settled and 5 of 8 of the wish list covered.
A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 9 they get their guy under center for the next decade. A clean fit for the roster.
T.J. Tampa in slot 44 lands just on the right side of the ledger. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Christian Haynes at the 77th overall pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Leonard Taylor III at the 112th pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint at No. 150 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the wide receiver. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
A reach on Gabe Hall in the Round 6 slot; the board had better options right there. The roster fit checks out.
By-the-book stuff, Jeremy Flax at Round 7, Pick 14 squarely in line with his ranking. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
