Start where it matters. The Raiders took Jayden Daniels to run the offense for the next decade, and every other decision this weekend bends around that one. More right than wrong, and a B- to match.
They punted on edge rusher, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. The Melton pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. Estime falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 7th overall pick they get their guy under center for the next decade at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Braden Fiske at the Round 2 slot is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. A need, and now a little less of one.
They jumped the gun on Max Melton, taking him earlier than his grade liked. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
A quiet steal in No. 113: Audric Estime for less than the market said. The roster fit checks out.
Roger Rosengarten in slot 147 is fair value, right on his grade. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
A slide stopped in pick 210, with Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint worth more than the price. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Tyrice Knight at Round 7, Pick 1 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the linebacker. A minor need, but a need all the same.
A conviction pick on Trey Knox at pick No. 225 that the board grades a round light. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
They paid a round early for Jordan Magee in pick No. 227, more than the board wanted. Depth on depth, at a spot that was hardly crying out.
