After circling the position for what felt like forever, the Raiders committed. Jayden Daniels is the quarterback now, and the roster gets built to his timeline.
Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. They punted on edge rusher, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.
The cost of the Hall Jr. reach is exactly the players who went right after him. They left with cornerback solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a franchise quarterback at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Kingsley Suamataia in pick No. 54 is fair value, right on his grade. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Michael Hall Jr. at pick 77 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. The roster fit checks out.
Nothing to complain about; Khyree Jackson went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
They paid sticker price for Braelon Allen in the 150th overall pick, and that is fine. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
LaDarius Henderson at slot 159 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
De'Corian Clark in the 190th pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Good price on Nathaniel Watson in No. 234, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
