The search is over. The Raiders handed the keys to Jayden Daniels, and the whole operation now runs on his development. The bottom line is a respectable B-.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up. Whatever else happened, they won the night they took McClellan.
Every board in the league had Hall lower, and that gap is the story.
Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a passer to set the clock by. A real need, handled.
A quiet steal in pick No. 44: Quinyon Mitchell for less than the market said. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Braden Fiske at No. 77 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Blake Fisher slid further than he should have, and the 112th pick is lovely value for the offensive lineman. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
LaDarius Henderson in pick 150 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
The board had cheaper options than Gabe Hall at Round 6, Pick 15, and it noticed. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
The board had Jase McClellan higher than the 234th overall pick, and the running back fell to them anyway. It fills a real need, too.
