The Raiders spent the pick that matters most on Jayden Daniels, and a roster that has been waiting on a passer can start to take shape. Call it a sensible B-, earned the boring way.
The Ali steal is the beam this whole class leans on. The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer. Hall has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced.
Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 7th overall pick they get the arm they will build around. A clean fit for the roster.
Somehow Troy Franklin was still sitting there in the Round 2 slot, and they pounced on premier wide receiver value. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Mekhi Wingo at pick No. 77. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Value with a capital V on Zak Zinter in the 112th pick, a genuine coup. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Taking Jarrian Jones in pick 150 is close to grand larceny; a cornerback that good had no business lasting this long. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Gabe Hall at No. 190 is a conviction pick that outran the value. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
They robbed the room for Rasheen Ali here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
