The Patriots spent the pick that matters most on Jayden Daniels, and a roster that has been waiting on a passer can start to take shape.

That is a cornerback worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck.

They will answer for taking cornerback early while edge rusher, interior defensive lineman and other spots went begging. The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.

Add it up and few war rooms did better this weekend, Jayden Daniels and all.
