Somebody took the Commanders to the cleaners. The deals they made bled real value, and the whole class wears it.
Jayden Daniels gives the offense a face and a plan, and the grade leans heavily on whether he hits. Reaching for Harrell left real value on the table behind him. However the rest shakes out, Wiley at that price is a win they earned.
Wide receiver is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
A rough weekend that leaves the roster with more questions than answers.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get the face of the franchise. A real need, handled.
In No. 27 they get a blindside protector at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
A tidy bit of business in slot 35, where Xavier Legette graded well above the range. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
By-the-book stuff, Chop Robinson at Round 2, Pick 4 squarely in line with his ranking. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
They went early on Jackson Powers-Johnson in pick 40, and the value did not follow. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Edgerrin Cooper at the 67th overall pick. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Blake Corum at pick No. 75 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
A straight-up fair deal on Cade Stover at the 94th pick, value and slot in agreement. It does not line up with the team's obvious holes.
Zak Zinter in pick 100 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
No drama and no debate, DeWayne Carter went about where he belonged in Round 4, Pick 2. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Jaden Hicks in No. 104 is fair value, right on his grade. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Kamal Hadden in the Round 5 slot lands just on the right side of the ledger. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
A reach for Jaylen Harrell in the 181st overall pick; a little patience would have been rewarded. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Steal is underselling it; Jared Wiley at pick No. 219 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
