No fireworks, just a tidy B- for the Commanders.

Some picks age like wine; Barryn Sorrell at the 146th pick will need to, sitting 150 spots clear of his grade.

On value alone, Tuten makes the weekend a net positive. A whole weekend of picks and cornerback is somehow still a want. They went 5 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.

Good work on the whole, with cornerback the one box left unchecked.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.29 · Pick 29 · Josh Conerly Jr. · OT · rank 36
In the 29th pick they get a long-term starter on the line at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
R2.29 · Pick 61 · Tre Harris · WR · rank 48
They read the board right and Tre Harris was the payoff at pick 61. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
R3.15 · Pick 79 · Xavier Watts · S · rank 46
A safety of that caliber at No. 79 is the definition of value, full stop. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
R5.9 · Pick 146 · Barryn Sorrell · LB-EDGE · rank 296
They reached into another round for Barryn Sorrell, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
R6.28 · Pick 203 · Kobe King · LB · rank 135
They robbed the room for Kobe King here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
R7.20 · Pick 236 · Jake Briningstool · TE · rank 232
Jake Briningstool in the 236th overall pick is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
R7.31 · Pick 247 · Bhayshul Tuten · RB · rank 164
They barely believed it either: Bhayshul Tuten still on the board at Round 7, Pick 31. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
