Somebody took the Raiders to the cleaners. The deals they made bled real value, and the whole class wears it. Put together, it is a D.
The whole projection now runs through Jayden Daniels; hit there and everything else looks smarter. That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. On value alone, Suamataia makes the weekend a net positive.
Job largely done: cornerback settled and 6 of 8 of the wish list covered.
In the end, a class the front office will want to grow past quickly.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 10 they get their quarterback of the future at fair value. A real need, handled.
A straight-up fair deal on Xavier Worthy at pick 44, value and slot in agreement. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
They paid sticker price for Byron Murphy II in the Round 3 slot, and that is fine. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Kingsley Suamataia at Round 3, Pick 13 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
They let J. Michael Sturdivant come to them and pounced at No. 112. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Nothing to complain about; Jaylin Simpson went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Michael Barrett at slot 190 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
A market-rate running back, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Blake Watson. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
