The phones were a trap the Raiders kept walking into, shipping out surplus on nearly every deal.
Everything downstream of Jayden Daniels depends on Jayden Daniels, and the building knows it. A whole weekend of picks and edge rusher is somehow still a want. The bill for those future picks comes due whether the class hits or not.
The verdict is harsh because the weekend was, and there is little to argue.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get the arm they will build around. A clean fit for the roster.
No drama and no debate, Xavier Worthy went about where he belonged in slot 44. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
They paid sticker price for Mekhi Wingo in pick No. 66, and that is fine. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Malachi Corley in pick 77 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Dominick Puni in the 112th overall pick is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Nehemiah Pritchett slid further than he should have, and the 150th pick is lovely value for the cornerback. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
By-the-book stuff, AJ Barner at Round 6, Pick 15 squarely in line with his ranking. A need, and now a little less of one.
A tidy bit of business in No. 234, where Darius Muasau graded well above the range. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
