You could see the war room lean forward. CJ Allen at pick 62 is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did. Good, not great, and the B says as much.
Randall has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. A whole weekend of picks and edge rusher is somehow still a want.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
Taking CJ Allen in pick 62 is close to grand larceny; a linebacker that good had no business lasting this long. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Emmett Johnson in pick No. 111 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. The roster fit checks out.
They liked Oscar Delp enough to skip the value, taking him in the 115th pick. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Tim Keenan III in slot 162. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
They took Ar'maj Reed-Adams at par in No. 170, which is nothing to complain about. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
TJ Hall in the 246th overall pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Adam Randall in the Round 7 slot is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Fa'alili Fa'amoe at Round 7, Pick 41 is money in the bank, a offensive lineman taken below his worth. A need, and now a little less of one.
