The Packers treated their own grade as gospel and everyone else's as noise, spending pick No. 219 on Solomon Byrd a full 38 spots early.

Landing Jackson that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up. On the needs board they went 5 of 8, with edge rusher the one that mattered most.

Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
