The rest of the league will want that one back. Quinshon Judkins tumbling to the Commanders in pick No. 146 is a gift they did not have to think twice about.
The trade ledger is the best part of the whole weekend. They will need Riley to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. The tight end spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.
Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 29 they get a three-down second-level presence, outstanding value to boot. Need was not the driver here.
They jumped the gun on Ajani Cornelius, taking him earlier than his grade liked. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
A tidy bit of business in pick No. 125, where Savion Williams graded well above the range. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Quinshon Judkins in the 146th pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
They reached into another round for Quincy Riley, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Upton Stout in No. 236 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
A linebacker of that caliber at the Round 7 slot is the definition of value, full stop. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
