This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: Cam Skattebo, the No. 114 name on the board, stolen at pick 202.
The Parker reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. Leaving tight end unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick-by-Pick
The board fumbled Nick Emmanwori all the way to Round 2, Pick 27, and they scooped it up. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Dylan Sampson at the 79th overall pick is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Circle this one: Darien Porter at the 97th pick is a fall that decides a draft. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
A top-tier wide receiver at a bargain, Tory Horton in pick 121, plain and simple. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
They barely believed it either: Deontae Lawson still on the board at pick No. 146. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Somehow Jake Majors was still sitting there in the Round 5 slot, and they pounced on premier offensive lineman value. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Taking Cam Skattebo in No. 202 is close to grand larceny; a running back that good had no business lasting this long. The roster fit checks out.
Bhayshul Tuten at slot 235 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
A real head-scratcher, Steven Parker in the 246th pick is miles ahead of his ranking. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
