The Commanders spent the weekend waiting on one name, and it fell: Raheim Sanders, the No. 156 name on the board, in Round 7, Pick 34. More right than wrong, and a B to match.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through cornerback. The Williams reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the cornerback spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a home-run threat at receiver at a price that makes it sweeter. The biggest hole, addressed.
A top-tier tight end at a bargain, Tyler Warren in pick No. 61, plain and simple. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
A real head-scratcher, Savion Williams in slot 79 is miles ahead of his ranking. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
The board fumbled Dylan Sampson all the way to the 148th overall pick, and they scooped it up. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Circle this one: Ryan Fitzgerald at Round 6, Pick 32 is a fall that decides a draft. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
By-the-book stuff, Maxen Hook at the 238th pick squarely in line with his ranking. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Raheim Sanders in pick 250 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
