Thirty-one other rooms let Omarion Hampton slide, and the Commanders were the ones holding the card at Round 2, Pick 27. Highway robbery.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through edge rusher. The Travis pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 26 they get a No. 1 receiver. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Somehow Omarion Hampton was still sitting there in No. 59, and they pounced on premier running back value. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Circle this one: Tyler Warren at pick No. 83 is a fall that decides a draft. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
The board fumbled Jake Majors all the way to the 124th overall pick, and they scooped it up. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Cam Skattebo in pick 146 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Jaishawn Barham at the Round 6 slot is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Davison Igbinosun at the 235th pick is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Xzavier Henderson in slot 236 is fair value, right on his grade. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
A reach for Jalen Travis in pick No. 246; a little patience would have been rewarded. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
