The trade table was a mismatch, and the Commanders were on the right end of it, hauling in a fortune in surplus value. It holds up to a second look, which is why it earns the A.
However the rest shakes out, Guyton at that price is a win they earned. They punted on edge rusher, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.
The kind of weekend a front office frames and hangs on the wall.
Pick-by-Pick
A tidy little value on Brock Bowers in No. 10, a step better than break-even. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
JC Latham in the Round 2 slot should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
You do not let a cornerback like Nate Wiggins reach pick 40 and blink. They did not. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
They robbed the room for Tyler Guyton here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Khyree Jackson in pick No. 103 is fair value, right on his grade. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
James Williams at Round 5, Pick 2 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the safety. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Joe Milton III at the Round 6 slot is the proof. A need, and now a little less of one.
A tidy bit of business in slot 220, where JD Bertrand graded well above the range. A minor itch, scratched.
A quiet steal in pick No. 226: De'Corian Clark for less than the market said. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
