You build a draft on nights like this. Sheridan Jones had no business being available in the 244th pick, and the Cowboys did the only sane thing and turned in the card. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B-.
Every board in the league had Davis lower, and that gap is the story. The quarterback hole is the one line item this class does not answer. Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 24th pick they get a blindside protector. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
They did well to land Braden Fiske in slot 56, just ahead of his grade. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Ray Davis in pick 87 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Tahj Washington in the Round 5 slot is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
A premium they did not need to pay, Tatum Bethune a notch or two before his time. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Kalen DeLoach at No. 233 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. A minor need, but a need all the same.
