The Commanders worked the phones like thieves and earned a A.

You can fall in love with a player. You are not supposed to marry him in the wrong round. The Commanders did exactly that with Carson Steele in the 228th pick.

However the rest shakes out, McCaffrey at that price is a win they earned. They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast. The Stover pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with tight end and interior defensive lineman still on the board.

They punted on tight end, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.

Add it up and few war rooms did better this weekend, Joe Alt and all.
