They finally answered the question that shadows every other one. Caleb Williams is the Commanders' quarterback, full stop. They moved the roster forward and banked a B for it.
The Beebe pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged. They will regret leaving tight end for another day if the season turns on it. David Bakhtiari gives the group a proven body among the projects.
Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 2 they get their guy under center for the next decade. A real need, handled.
Jackson Powers-Johnson at the 40th pick jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
They paid sticker price for Johnny Wilson in pick No. 67, and that is fine. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Cooper Beebe at Round 4, Pick 1 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
They took Khyree Jackson at par in No. 103, which is nothing to complain about. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
James Williams at pick 138 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
They will replay Jaylen Wright at the Round 6 slot for years; that is how good the value is. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Myles Jones at the 220th overall pick is a conviction pick that outran the value. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
