The steal of the weekend belongs to the Commanders and Bullock: B+.

The trade table was a mismatch, and the Commanders were on the right end of it, hauling in a fortune in surplus value.
The Commanders indulged a want in Stover while a need in tight end stayed open. Leaving tight end unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. Getting Bullock where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class.
The Milton III reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 25th pick they get a long-term starter on the line. Exactly the need they had to hit.
They paid sticker price for Chris Braswell in pick 40, and that is fine. A need, and now a little less of one.
By-the-book stuff, Kingsley Suamataia at No. 51 squarely in line with his ranking. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Patrick Paul in the 61st overall pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
A clean, defensible pick in the Round 3 slot with a little surplus value in Zach Frazier. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Jeremiah Trotter Jr. at pick No. 66 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
A market-rate wide receiver, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Xavier Legette. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
They paid a round early for Khyree Jackson in the 71st pick, more than the board wanted. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
A want over a need in pick No. 80: Cade Stover adds a TE-EDGE while tight end keeps waiting.
Somehow Calen Bullock was still sitting there in Round 3, Pick 29, and they pounced on premier safety value. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
No edge and no loss on Braelon Allen in slot 104; it is a wash and a sensible one. It fills a real need, too.
Johnny Wilson at pick 112 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Of all the spots to shop, they chose safety. James Williams in the 114th overall pick leaves tight end for later.
Fabien Lovett at the Round 5 slot is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
They paid up for Joe Milton III at the 181st pick when waiting would have done the job. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Eric Watts slid further than he should have, and No. 220 is lovely value for the edge rusher. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
A tidy little value on Myles Cole in the 226th overall pick, a step better than break-even. The roster fit checks out.
