They finally answered the question that shadows every other one. Caleb Williams is the Commanders' quarterback, full stop. The bottom line is a respectable B+.
They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast. The Ulofoshio reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade.
On value alone, Brooks makes the weekend a net positive. Leaving tight end unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but tight end.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 2 they get the face of the franchise. A clean fit for the roster.
Good price on Chris Braswell in pick 46, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. The roster fit checks out.
No drama and no debate, Kingsley Suamataia went about where he belonged in No. 53. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Circle this one: Jonathon Brooks at pick No. 66 is a fall that decides a draft. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Junior Colson in the Round 3 slot is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A minor itch, scratched.
Value with a capital V on Kiran Amegadjie in the 72nd pick, a genuine coup. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
A conviction pick on Khyree Jackson at slot 73 that the board grades a round light. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
James Williams at the 114th overall pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
They went early on Johnny Wilson in slot 118, and the value did not follow. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Eric Watts. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
They left a pile of value on the table to take Edefuan Ulofoshio this early at the 220th pick. It is more luxury than necessity; they were already set here.
