The 49ers' one glaring miss is wide receiver, a need they left exactly as they found it.
The Iheanachor reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. Zuhn III at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. The roster is better shaped than it was, with offensive lineman chief among the fixes.
Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 27 they get a long-term starter on the line, a steep price for the projection. The biggest hole, addressed.
Nothing to complain about; Gennings Dunker went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
A quiet steal in the Round 4 slot: Julian Neal for less than the market said. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Justin Joly at the 133rd pick is the proof. A need, and now a little less of one.
A straight-up fair deal on DeMonte Capehart at slot 138, value and slot in agreement. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
They let Trey Zuhn III come to them and pounced at Round 4, Pick 39. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
