You could see the war room lean forward. Jamari Thrash at slot 219 is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did. The bottom line is a respectable B-.
The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer. Job largely done: cornerback settled and 5 of 8 of the wish list covered.
Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 11 they get an anchor for the offensive line. A clean fit for the roster.
They barely believed it either: Tyler Nubin still on the board at the 39th pick. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Value with a capital V on Johnny Wilson in the 43rd overall pick, a genuine coup. It fills a real need, too.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Byron Murphy II in the Round 3 slot. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
No drama and no debate, TreVeyon Henderson went about where he belonged in slot 82. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Good price on Cam Hart in Round 4, Pick 11, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
By-the-book stuff, Ray Davis at No. 135 squarely in line with his ranking. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
You do not let a linebacker like Jaylan Ford reach pick No. 189 and blink. They did not. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Willie Roberts slid further than he should have, and the 217th overall pick is lovely value for the cornerback. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Jamari Thrash in slot 219 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Joshua Gray in No. 232 is fair value, right on his grade. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
