Houston Texans

More right than wrong for the Texans, and a B to prove it.

The weekend has a hole in the middle of it named interior defensive lineman, a need the Texans walked right past.

Reaching for Davis left real value on the table behind him. Landing Henderson that late papers over a lot of smaller sins.

The roster is better shaped than it was, with running back chief among the fixes.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.26 · Pick 26 · Dallas Turner · LB-EDGE · rank 22
In the 26th pick they get juice off the edge. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
R2.17 · Pick 49 · Brian Thomas Jr. · WR · rank 52
By-the-book stuff, Brian Thomas Jr. at the Round 2 slot squarely in line with his ranking. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
R3.29 · Pick 92 · TreVeyon Henderson · RB · rank 84
TreVeyon Henderson at slot 92 is money in the bank, a running back taken below his worth. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
R4.17 · Pick 117 · Brenden Rice · WR · rank 113
Good price on Brenden Rice in pick 117, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
R4.26 · Pick 126 · Ray Davis · RB · rank 135
Ray Davis in pick No. 126 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
