The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Cowboys watched Emmanuel McNeil-Warren slide 41 picks past his grade and did not hesitate. It nets out to a B, which feels about right.
That wide receiver hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Cornerback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it. Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball.
In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a downhill thumper at linebacker. Exactly the need they had to hit.
In slot 20 they get a potential shutdown corner at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
You do not let a safety like Emmanuel McNeil-Warren reach Round 3, Pick 28 and blink. They did not. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
A tidy bit of business in the 112th pick, where Malik Muhammad graded well above the range. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
