The Kendall Milton pick is the one that will follow the Giants into the fall. They took him 45 spots ahead of his grade, and the board is not shy about saying so.
The dealing is the wound this class cannot quite close. Everything downstream of Drake Maye depends on Drake Maye, and the building knows it.
They punted on interior defensive lineman, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. If one pick saves this weekend, it is Hicks.
In the end, a class the front office will want to grow past quickly.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 6th pick they get a passer to set the clock by. A clean fit for the roster.
Xavier Worthy in Round 2, Pick 15 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Ricky Pearsall at pick 49 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Jaden Hicks in No. 114 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Jarrian Jones in the Round 5 slot. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Tommy Eichenberg at pick No. 154 is the proof. It adds depth where they could use a little.
