Everything else got attention, and quarterback got none. That is a strange way for the Packers to leave a draft. It nets out to a B-, which feels about right.

That Dorlus pick is the receipt they will wave around later. They went 4 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.

The back end got a real overhaul.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.25 · Pick 25 · Kool-Aid McKinstry · CB · rank 28
In pick No. 25 they get an island corner. Exactly the need they had to hit.
R2.9 · Pick 41 · Edgerrin Cooper · LB · rank 46
Edgerrin Cooper in the 41st overall pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
R2.26 · Pick 58 · Javon Bullard · S · rank 58
They took Javon Bullard at par in No. 58, which is nothing to complain about. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
R3.25 · Pick 88 · Blake Corum · RB · rank 86
Blake Corum in the 88th pick is fair value, right on his grade. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
R3.28 · Pick 91 · Brandon Dorlus · DE-EDGE · rank 79
A slide stopped in pick 91, with Brandon Dorlus worth more than the price. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
R4.26 · Pick 126 · Javon Foster · OT · rank 120
A clean, defensible pick in the Round 4 slot with a little surplus value in Javon Foster. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
