They will call it conviction in the building and a reach everywhere else: Drake Nugent, 26 picks early at Round 6, Pick 9. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B-.
Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. The Johnson steal is the beam this whole class leans on.
Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 21 they get a double-digit-sack hope at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
By-the-book stuff, Braden Fiske at pick No. 55 squarely in line with his ranking. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
They reached a country mile for Layden Robinson at the 158th pick, and the board is aghast. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
A real head-scratcher, Drake Nugent in the 184th overall pick is miles ahead of his ranking. A need, and now a little less of one.
Cornelius Johnson at slot 198 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Trevin Wallace at pick 241 is the proof. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
