The war room fell hard for Erick All, and it showed at the 189th overall pick: 45 picks ahead of a board that had other ideas.
They will regret leaving quarterback for another day if the season turns on it. If one pick saves this weekend, it is Rosemy-Jacksaint.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a sticky cover corner. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
A tidy little value on Calen Bullock in pick 50, a step better than break-even. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Edgerrin Cooper at the 53rd overall pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Blake Fisher in slot 97 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
They read the board right and Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint was the payoff at the 160th pick. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Austin Booker in pick No. 170. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
By-the-book stuff, Cody Schrader at Round 5, Pick 35 squarely in line with his ranking. It fills a real need, too.
They talked themselves into Aki Ogunbiyi at the 178th pick, and the board did not agree. A need, and now a little less of one.
They took Jordan Jefferson at par in No. 184, which is nothing to complain about. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Erick All in slot 189 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
