Grand theft in Round 4, Pick 13: the Giants steal Scott and grade out a C+.

You build a draft on nights like this. Keionte Scott had no business being available in the Round 4 slot, and the Giants did the only sane thing and turned in the card. A weekend of give and take that grades a C+.
Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. A whole weekend of picks and edge rusher is somehow still a want. The Nwankpa pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over.
The verdict is a shrug for now, with the swing picks left to write the real ending.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 5 they get the heartbeat of the defense at fair value. More want than need.
Denzel Boston at No. 37 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
A top-tier offensive lineman at a bargain, Jake Slaughter in the 105th overall pick, plain and simple. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Somehow Keionte Scott was still sitting there in the 113th pick, and they pounced on premier cornerback value. The roster fit checks out.
Nothing to complain about; DeMonte Capehart went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Kaleb Elarms-Orr in Round 6, Pick 5 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. Depth on depth, at a spot that was hardly crying out.
Zane Durant at slot 192 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Seth McGowan in the Round 6 slot. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Xavier Nwankpa at pick No. 214 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
