They banked enough surplus on Thomas Jr. to cover a lot of smaller sins. The cornerback hole is the one line item this class does not answer.
Add it up and few war rooms did better this weekend, Taliese Fuaga and all.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 23rd overall pick they get an anchor for the offensive line at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Calen Bullock at pick 41 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
They paid sticker price for Jeremiah Trotter Jr. in No. 43, and that is fine. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Chris Braswell at slot 73 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
TreVeyon Henderson at the Round 3 slot is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
A tidy bit of business in Round 3, Pick 25, where Brian Thomas Jr. graded well above the range. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Matt Goncalves at pick No. 109 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Tahj Brooks in the 135th pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
