Some picks age like wine; Kendall Milton at pick 246 will need to, sitting 110 spots clear of his grade.

Getting Worthy where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast. A whole weekend of picks and quarterback is somehow still a want.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.29 · Pick 29 · Amarius Mims · OT · rank 22
In pick 29 they get a blindside protector. The biggest hole, addressed.
R1.32 · Pick 32 · Keon Coleman · WR · rank 24
In No. 32 they get a go-to option on the outside, outstanding value to boot. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
R2.32 · Pick 64 · Tyler Guyton · OT · rank 40
Tyler Guyton in pick No. 64 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
R3.9 · Pick 73 · Xavier Worthy · WR · rank 43
They will replay Xavier Worthy at the Round 3 slot for years; that is how good the value is. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
R3.10 · Pick 74 · Cooper Beebe · OG · rank 78
Cooper Beebe in the 74th pick is fair value, right on his grade. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
R3.24 · Pick 87 · Caelen Carson · CB · rank 67
Somehow Caelen Carson was still sitting there in Round 3, Pick 24, and they pounced on premier cornerback value. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
R3.28 · Pick 91 · McKinnley Jackson · DL · rank 88
A clean, defensible pick in No. 91 with a little surplus value in McKinnley Jackson. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
R4.24 · Pick 124 · Tyrice Knight · LB · rank 115
A slide stopped in the 124th overall pick, with Tyrice Knight worth more than the price. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
R5.9 · Pick 145 · Jaylan Ford · LB · rank 177
They talked themselves into Jaylan Ford at pick 145, and the board did not agree. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
R5.38 · Pick 174 · Frank Gore Jr. · RB · rank 171
Nothing to complain about; Frank Gore Jr. went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
R6.14 · Pick 189 · Tanor Bortolini · C · rank 216
Tanor Bortolini in the Round 6 slot is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
R6.37 · Pick 212 · Jared Wiley · TE · rank 205
They did well to land Jared Wiley in Round 6, Pick 37, just ahead of his grade. It fills a real need, too.
R6.42 · Pick 217 · Myles Jones · CB · rank 214
Myles Jones in pick No. 217 lands just on the right side of the ledger. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
R7.25 · Pick 245 · Nathaniel Watson · LB · rank 240
Fair-plus on Nathaniel Watson, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
R7.26 · Pick 246 · Kendall Milton · RB · rank 356
Kendall Milton at the 246th pick is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
