When the story of this class is written, it opens with David Gusta at pick No. 170, a reach of 42 spots that the board flatly disagrees with.
Dixon falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick-by-Pick
Elijah Sarratt at No. 62 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Sam Roush at pick No. 108 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Kaleb Proctor in Round 4, Pick 11 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
David Gusta in the 170th overall pick is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Dane Key at pick 246 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. The roster fit checks out.
The board had cheaper options than Jack Kelly at the 256th pick, and it noticed. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Thaddeus Dixon at pick 257 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
