Somebody in pick 184 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Dolphins sat still while Sione Vaki, the No. 158 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. Good, not great, and the B- says as much.
The Murphy reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. The quarterback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.
Interior defensive lineman is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 21st overall pick they get a mismatch in the passing game, even if it was a touch early. A clean fit for the roster.
No edge and no loss on Kingsley Suamataia in pick No. 57; it is a wash and a sensible one. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
A reach on Roger Rosengarten in pick 125; the board had better options right there. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
They paid a round early for AJ Barner in the 158th pick, more than the board wanted. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
A top-tier safety at a bargain, Sione Vaki in Round 6, Pick 9, plain and simple. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Myles Murphy. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Jalen Sundell in No. 241 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
