Call it larceny. Malik Nabers sat on the board until the 29th pick, and the Chargers did not need to be asked twice. They moved the roster forward and banked a B for it.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up. On the needs board they went 4 of 8, with interior defensive lineman the one that mattered most. They came away with juice, if not much beef up front.
All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
Pick-by-Pick
By-the-book stuff, Brock Bowers at slot 5 squarely in line with his ranking. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
In No. 29 they get a home-run threat at receiver, outstanding value to boot. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Steal is underselling it; Jackson Powers-Johnson at the 69th overall pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
A tidy bit of business in pick 105, where Michael Hall Jr. graded well above the range. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
