The Packers looked at the value chart, folded it up, and took Logan Fano at the Round 5 slot regardless, 92 picks early. The bottom line is a respectable B.
Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. Golday falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. They punted on interior defensive lineman, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.
Dexter Lawrence II gives the group a proven body among the projects.
Good work on the whole, with interior defensive lineman the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
Jake Golday at the 84th overall pick is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Davison Igbinosun in the Round 4 slot lands just on the right side of the ledger. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
They liked J.C. Davis enough to skip the value, taking him in slot 126. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Charles Demmings slid further than he should have, and Round 5, Pick 20 is lovely value for the cornerback. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
A wild overpay on Logan Fano in the 165th pick, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Caleb Douglas at No. 168 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
A straight-up fair deal on Dae'Quan Wright at the Round 6 slot, value and slot in agreement. It fills a real need, too.
Good price on Kobe Baynes in slot 201, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. A need, and now a little less of one.
They talked themselves into Adam Randall at the 236th pick, and the board did not agree. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Jalon Daniels in Round 7, Pick 39 is fair value, right on his grade. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
