This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: Germie Bernard, the No. 62 name on the board, stolen at No. 105. Some smart calls, some head-scratchers, and a C in the wash.
The trade table is where this weekend went wrong. A whole weekend of picks and safety is somehow still a want.
So much rides on Mansoor Delane that the real verdict is a season or two away.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 5 they get an island corner at fair value. A real need, handled.
Anthony Hill Jr. at pick 37 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
A top-tier offensive lineman at a bargain, Jake Slaughter in the 84th pick, plain and simple. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
A wide receiver of that caliber at No. 105 is the definition of value, full stop. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
DeMonte Capehart at the 145th overall pick is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
A tidy bit of business in Round 6, Pick 5, where Aamil Wagner graded well above the range. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Zane Durant in slot 192 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Value with a capital V on Kaleb Elarms-Orr in the Round 6 slot, a genuine coup. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
