This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: Jalon Walker, the No. 25 name on the board, stolen at slot 163. It washes out to a C, no better and no worse.
They will need Skattebo to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. A whole weekend of picks and quarterback is somehow still a want.
Hit on Cam Skattebo and the swing picks, and this ages a lot better than it grades today.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 28 they get a workhorse for the backfield, though the board says they badly overpaid.
Tez Johnson at slot 97 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. A need, and now a little less of one.
DeMonte Capehart at pick No. 138 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. It fills a real need, too.
Steal is underselling it; Jalon Walker at No. 163 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A minor itch, scratched.
