Start where it matters. The Giants took Jayden Daniels to run the offense for the next decade, and every other decision this weekend bends around that one. Good, not great, and the B- says as much.
For all the activity, interior defensive lineman went untouched, which is hard to explain. Allen has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the interior defensive lineman spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 6th pick they get their guy under center for the next decade. A clean fit for the roster.
Good price on Chop Robinson in pick 39, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
No edge and no loss on Kiran Amegadjie in pick No. 47; it is a wash and a sensible one. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
They paid sticker price for Brenden Rice in the Round 3 slot, and that is fine. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
By-the-book stuff, Jaden Hicks at the 107th overall pick squarely in line with his ranking. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Braelon Allen in slot 143 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. It fills a real need, too.
They did well to land Curtis Jacobs in No. 185, just ahead of his grade. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
