Call it belief, call it a gut call, but Brian Parker II at pick 78 is 32 spots clear of consensus, and that is the headline.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through wide receiver. Landing Trigg that late papers over a lot of smaller sins.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but wide receiver.
Pick-by-Pick
LT Overton at the 47th pick is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. The roster fit checks out.
A tidy little value on Jake Slaughter in Round 2, Pick 30, a step better than break-even. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Brian Parker II well ahead of where he belonged. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
A tidy bit of business in pick No. 108, where Logan Jones graded well above the range. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Kaleb Proctor at the 127th overall pick is a conviction pick that outran the value. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Michael Trigg at No. 133 is money in the bank, a tight end taken below his worth. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Hezekiah Masses at the 138th overall pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Harold Perkins Jr. at the 139th pick is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. It fills a real need, too.
