Las Vegas Raiders

The phones sank the Raiders this weekend: C+.

You can hear the double-takes from here. The Raiders took Taylen Green at the Round 4 slot, roughly 60 spots before his name belonged. It washes out to a C+, no better and no worse.

That Orange pick is the receipt they will wave around later. The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. That running back hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.

If Monroe Freeling and a couple of the gambles land, hindsight will be kinder than this grade.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.12 · Pick 12 · Monroe Freeling · OT · rank 23
In No. 12 they get a long-term starter on the line, even if it was a touch early. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
R1.24 · Pick 24 · Kayden McDonald · DT · rank 18
In Round 1, Pick 24 they get a disruptive interior force at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
R2.4 · Pick 36 · Dillon Thieneman · S · rank 27
They let Dillon Thieneman come to them and pounced at the 36th overall pick. It adds depth where they could use a little.
R3.3 · Pick 67 · Keionte Scott · CB · rank 63
Nothing to complain about; Keionte Scott went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
R4.2 · Pick 102 · Zachariah Branch · WR · rank 65
Somehow Zachariah Branch was still sitting there in pick No. 102, and they pounced on premier wide receiver value. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
R4.7 · Pick 107 · Logan Jones · C · rank 97
Logan Jones at the 107th pick is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
R4.12 · Pick 112 · Davison Igbinosun · CB · rank 80
You do not let a cornerback like Davison Igbinosun reach the 112th pick and blink. They did not. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
R4.17 · Pick 117 · Domonique Orange · DT · rank 73
Steal is underselling it; Domonique Orange at the 117th overall pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A need, and now a little less of one.
R4.34 · Pick 134 · Taylen Green · QB · rank 194
A real head-scratcher, Taylen Green in slot 134 is miles ahead of his ranking. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
R5.35 · Pick 175 · Nyjalik Kelly · DE-EDGE · rank 214
They reached a country mile for Nyjalik Kelly at pick No. 175, and the board is aghast. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
R6.4 · Pick 185 · Marlin Klein · TE · rank 160
Marlin Klein at the Round 6 slot is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
R6.27 · Pick 208 · Keagen Trost · OT · rank 184
A offensive lineman of that caliber at Round 6, Pick 27 is the definition of value, full stop. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
R7.3 · Pick 219 · Jeremiah Wright · OG · rank 228
Jeremiah Wright in pick 219 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
