The Tyrone Tracy Jr. selection is the head-turner. The Packers reached 27 spots for him, and it will define how this weekend is remembered.
Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. Edge rusher was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. The weekend tilted hard toward the defense.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 25 they get an island corner. The biggest hole, addressed.
A clean, defensible pick in the Round 2 slot with a little surplus value in Jordan Morgan. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
They took Payton Wilson at par in pick 58, which is nothing to complain about. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
By-the-book stuff, Gabriel Murphy at No. 88 squarely in line with his ranking. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Jaden Hicks in slot 91. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Tyrone Tracy Jr. at the 126th pick is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Walter Rouse at slot 169 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
