The rest of the league will want that one back. Quinn Ewers tumbling to the Cardinals in the Round 5 slot is a gift they did not have to think twice about.
The cost of the Conerly Jr. reach is exactly the players who went right after him. The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. They went 4 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 16th overall pick they get protection for the quarterback, though the board says they badly overpaid. The biggest hole, addressed.
A slide stopped in slot 47, with Derrick Harmon worth more than the price. A need, and now a little less of one.
Jayden Higgins at pick 78 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
A reach on Jamaree Caldwell in No. 114; the board had better options right there. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
