The Dolphins did the meat-and-potatoes work well: B.

Call it belief, call it a gut call, but Tyreak Sapp at the 94th pick is 40 spots clear of consensus, and that is the headline.

That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. The Wetjen steal is the beam this whole class leans on.

In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.11 · Pick 11 · Mansoor Delane · CB · rank 8
In pick No. 11 they get a ballhawk on the outside. More want than need.
R1.31 · Pick 31 · KC Concepcion · WR · rank 27
In pick 31 they get a weapon on the perimeter at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
R2.11 · Pick 43 · Dillon Thieneman · S · rank 35
A slide stopped in Round 2, Pick 11, with Dillon Thieneman worth more than the price. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
R2.17 · Pick 49 · Gennings Dunker · OT · rank 49
Gennings Dunker at slot 49 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
R3.23 · Pick 87 · Max Klare · TE · rank 78
A quiet steal in No. 87: Max Klare for less than the market said. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
R3.26 · Pick 90 · Logan Jones · C · rank 93
By-the-book stuff, Logan Jones at the 90th overall pick squarely in line with his ranking. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
R3.30 · Pick 94 · Tyreak Sapp · DE-EDGE · rank 134
They reached a country mile for Tyreak Sapp at Round 3, Pick 30, and the board is aghast. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
R5.11 · Pick 151 · DeMonte Capehart · DT · rank 137
DeMonte Capehart in the 151st overall pick is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
R6.19 · Pick 200 · Jeff Caldwell · WR · rank 189
The board had Jeff Caldwell higher than the 200th pick, and the wide receiver fell to them anyway. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
R7.11 · Pick 227 · TJ Hall · CB · rank 222
They did well to land TJ Hall in No. 227, just ahead of his grade. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
R7.22 · Pick 238 · Kaden Wetjen · WR · rank 223
They read the board right and Kaden Wetjen was the payoff at pick 238. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
