The Dolphins went off the board in a big way for Steven Parker, 63 picks early. Conviction is one thing; this is another. It nets out to a B-, which feels about right.
They banked enough surplus on Winston Jr. to cover a lot of smaller sins. That interior defensive lineman hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but interior defensive lineman.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 13th pick they get a lead back with juice at a price that makes it sweeter. A real need, handled.
Value said wait; Quinn Ewers in Round 2, Pick 16 says they were not listening. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
They talked themselves into Jaeden Roberts at the Round 3 slot, and the board did not agree. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Tez Johnson in the 114th overall pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
This one needs a full-page explanation: Trey Zuhn III in pick 133, miles early. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Circle this one: Kevin Winston Jr. at pick No. 149 is a fall that decides a draft. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Cobee Bryant in pick No. 154 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Steal is underselling it; Brant Kuithe at pick 224 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
James Burnip at slot 231 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
Steven Parker at the 252nd overall pick is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
