The war room fell hard for Eyabi Okie-Anoma, and it showed at pick 157: 107 picks ahead of a board that had other ideas.
Michael Penix Jr. gives the offense a face and a plan, and the grade leans heavily on whether he hits. Getting Holker where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped wide receiver, which is a strange place to end up.
In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get the face of the franchise, and a steal at that. The biggest hole, addressed.
A wild overpay on Mohamed Kamara in pick No. 55, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
They left a pile of value on the table to take Eyabi Okie-Anoma this early at slot 157. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
A tight end of that caliber at Round 6, Pick 11 is the definition of value, full stop. It fills a real need, too.
They robbed the room for Ty'Ron Hopper here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. The roster fit checks out.
Tanner McLachlan at No. 239 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
