You can fall in love with a player. You are not supposed to marry him in the wrong round. The Cardinals did exactly that with Donovan Smith in No. 151.
On value alone, Campbell makes the weekend a net positive. They will regret leaving wide receiver for another day if the season turns on it.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 16 they get an anchor for the offensive line, though the board says they badly overpaid. Exactly the need they had to hit.
They robbed the room for Mike Green here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
You do not let a linebacker like Jihaad Campbell reach the 78th overall pick and blink. They did not. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Darius Alexander in No. 113 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. The roster fit checks out.
They talked themselves into Donovan Smith at Round 5, Pick 14, and the board did not agree. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
