They will call it conviction in the building and a reach everywhere else: Blake Watson, 47 picks early at slot 241. Call it a sensible B-, earned the boring way.
On value alone, McCormick makes the weekend a net positive. They punted on quarterback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. Job largely done: wide receiver settled and 3 of 8 of the wish list covered.
The offense got the lion's share of the attention.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 21 they get a No. 1 receiver at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Jordan Morgan in the 55th overall pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Christian Jones at pick 158 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A need, and now a little less of one.
The board fumbled Mason McCormick all the way to No. 184, and they scooped it up. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
A top-tier cornerback at a bargain, Kamal Hadden in the Round 6 slot, plain and simple. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
This one needs a full-page explanation: Blake Watson in Round 7, Pick 21, miles early. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
